# Trading Profiles and Referrals

Users can create an Ascend trading profile and refer others to the platform.

Referrers receive a share of the swap fees generated by their referrals, settled in USDC. The current base referral rate is **20% of referred users’ swap fees**.

Rates may increase based on staking levels, partnership arrangements, and other program criteria. Rates may vary by participant and remain subject to change.

This ties referral incentives to actual platform usage. Participants who introduce active users can receive an ongoing share of the swap fees those users generate, without requiring an Ascend protocol token.

### Ascend points program

Twenty percent of the KNTQ purchased with net protocol revenue funds the Ascend points program.

Activity is tracked cumulatively on each user's trading profile across a season: staked TVL, trading volume, ecosystem tokens held, and general platform usage. At the end of each season, participants receive liquid KNTQ according to their activity. There is no separate points token.

Season length, weighting, and eligibility are published before each season opens. Points and referral rewards are separate programs: referral rewards are funded by swap fees, and points are funded by the KNTQ allocation.

Staking can therefore provide four complementary benefits:

* Ecosystem-token distributions funded only by users’ staking yield
* Direct HYPE rewards funded by protocol revenue
* Eligibility for an increased share of referral fees
* Staked TVL counts toward the Ascend points program

The referral program remains economically separate from the token trading fee and from the NFT-weighted HYPE reward pool.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://ascendlaunch.gitbook.io/docs/trading-profiles-and-referrals.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
